Margaux Keller, a designer and architect from Marseilles, is one of Gellé Frères’s leading Queens...She was behind the sumptuous and elegant atmosphere of the company’s e-boudoir, on 19 avenue de l’Opéra, in Paris’s first arrondissement. The Gellé Frères’s Beauty Team interviewed her to find out more about her…!
Hi Margaux! To start off with, could you tell us more about your background and your current line of work?
I’ve been passionate about design since the age of 13! I studied at the Ecole Normale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d’Art (an elite school of art and design) in Paris for five years. After that, I studied at the Ecole Boulle (an elite college of fine arts and crafts) where I earned my degree in 2010, for which I received a jury commendation. I then initially worked with the Philippe Starck agency, and later at La Fabrica de Benetton centre in Italy. In 2012, I founded my own design studio in Marseilles and have since been working with a very wide variety of partners: La Redoute Intérieurs, Roche Bobois and Gellé Frères.
According to you, which three words best describe the Gellé Frères’s ethos?
Three words that describe Gellé Frères for me, would be firstly, “Elegance,” for its Parisian flair, then “Femininity,” as the company has always strived to serve Queens, and lastly, “Poetry,” for the way in which it represents perfume.
How would you define a “Queen 2.0?”
I’m thinking of a more democratic, modern-day sort of Queen! Obviously, she would still be elegant and classy, but she’ll leave monarchy behind. She won’t concern herself with constraints and morality and intends to live her life as she pleases.
When was the last time you felt like a Queen?
I’m lucky to be able to tell you that I feel like a Queen every day…In the eyes of my 3-year-old daughter! You can’t help but be proud of being a mum…!
And using Gellé Frères’s analysis, which Queen are you? Does that really represent you and what do you think of the recommended perfume?
I’m the assertive Queen! I know it’s crazy, but the description perfectly matches my personality and lifestyle. I’m full of energy, always working at full throttle and multitasking at that!
What’s more, the ‘Lys audacieux’ fragrance is truly delightful…Its misty texture is an everyday bliss. I can’t get bored with this mild and gentle scent.
